How could a man who believes that unauthoritarian two-person cooperation is impossible believe in it on a society-wide scale?

Unedited books are like unedited posts: they display contempt for the reader. Good editing and writing, besides increasing clarity and pleasure, are signs of solicitousness, signs that you've read it back from the reader's point of view and taken pains on their behalf.
