There was an AP story yesterday on the trend of people giving up land lines altogether. Lots of people will still want a phone number from you for various reasons however (I finally told the clerks at Radio Shack that if they asked me for my phone number again just to buy batteries I was walking out the door) , and I at least have no interest in giving out my cell number to all but the very few, so I just give out my office number and let voice mail deal with it.
