Well, my experience is quite different. As a rather frequent consumer of counseling and therapy over the years, I've found quite a few therapists who are very hip to the political aspects of relationships. (After all, what was the feminist movement doing all those years? Didn't it raise the consciousness of at least a few therapists?)
Most large urban areas, at least, are probably home to quite a few leftist analysts. Just shop around, and you're likely to find one pretty soon. As with any other aspect of therapy, there are a lot of reasons for being dissatisfied with your current therapist; if you don't think she/he is getting at the real issues in your life, get another one.
