Whaddiya mean they're not? First you put a lot of disinformation out to make it look like the guy with the mustache always shooting off a shotgun is an immanent threat to the U.S. of A.; the polls show the majority of the public believes you; you have the war; and after the war the polls still show the majority think it was right. What could be more democratic than that?

Almost like Wag the Dog, except that this time there was a real war.
