i get the impression you're taking this very seriously, doug. don't you really think it's a better experiment than carrol's idea?

which 1/2 do you prefer? there are several statistical sampling procedures we could use. we could start with the lawyer/politicians ....

frankly, my bias is that it won't make any difference in the scheme of things. so, i don't perceive the element of risk you appear to see. and it's more fair than getting rid of all of them.

Which half? That's a pretty innovative approach to social policy - let's do something radical whose effects we can't imagine just to see what happens.
