The poor look has been around since Reagan -- in one form or another. It's Marie Antoinette tending her sheep; it's middle class suburban kids expressing their freedom and individuality; it's flirting with danger and demonstrating that you are priviledged enough to do so; it's market diversification. It's somewhere between pathetic and obscene. I'm sure C Grimes could come up with the right word for it.
