It's a false opposition, clearly. The question is markets in general. Markets and "the marketplace of capitalistically owned commodities" are two different things and the latter cannot stand in for the former.

Moreover, "we could distribute" is so simplistic as to be deceptive. Who could distribute according to what set of rights, privileges and obligations and why should I agree to it? The questions only begin there.
