Was it not a very special kind of ignorance that informed the Bush administration's post-war plan-like-substance considering the recent history of command economies which lose their unifying power structures? Is there any reason to believe that Iraq should do better over the next five years than Russia and the rest of the Soviet Union did in the five years after the Wall fell? Remember the old "hardware" versus "software" debate about redeveloping the former Soviet Union? In Iraq the U.S. threw out the old hardware and did not even think to bring new hardware, let alone new software.

Yeah, this Iraq thing is going to be fun.
