that's a very good point, shane.  it's the one thing that made me quite reluctant to post the article to the LBO group.   the author showed very bad taste in choosing that metaphor, and spoiled an otherwise good article by doing so.  i apologize for that aspect of it.  i wish he hadn't done it.
