I for one don't see anything wrong with being optimistic, though I'm not a very optimistic person. I don't know why people see positive attitudes and spiritual consciousness as weaknesses, though I can't understand spiritualism at all. (Just because I can't understand it doesn't mean it's bad. After all, I'm an agnostic, not an atheist.)
I also don't see anything wrong with gallows humor now and then, as with my "Prozac" joke. Of course, that doesn't mean it was funny. That's up to others to decide. Jim

Sure. What's so wrong about being positive? Is this truly a slam to the
terminally depressed? Hell, I've gone through some seriously dark periods in
my life, emotionally and financially, so it's not as if I'm blind to that
part of existence. I'm certain there are many here who've gone through the
same. But why is it that to some lefties, being positive or -- even worse --
spiritual, a sign of weakness? I know that there is comfort in maintaining a
grim outlook (I did it for years), but is it at all constructive?
