I do not know what the US propaganda machine is saying (I routinely ignore US-based publications), but BBC mainatins it is poor economic performance (see below). I wish that US-ers were as smart as Germans and pay more attention to faltering economy than Iraq, which is a clever diversion to hide Bush's dismal perfomance.
