I wouldn't call it being _for_ ObL, myself. Just an unfortunate attachment to strategy.
And it isn't really surprising. This debate over "worse, the better" thinking has been around since the first stock market dive in late summer/early fall of '98, a few months after the birth of LOB-talk. People salivated over a stock market crash and the possibilities for the long run, then, and they do so now. Only now, it's not about Wall Streeters leaping from offices.
