Levins & Lewontin dedicate their _Dialectical Biologist_ as follows,

To Frederick Engels

who go it wrong a lot of the time

but who got it right where it counted

Lenin did not have much time to arrive at his embryonic analysis of imperialism: he had a world war on his hands and almost the entire leadership of the world's workers had finked out and was cheering on the slaughter. So he got an awful lot wrong, and left out a lot more, and there is still today room for developing a better analysis. But he got it right where it counted: imperialism is the mode of existence of capitalism.
