Besides those Jews who voted Hadash, the far left, the Arab Sector, etc...I would say that a good percentage of those who voted Shinui were really saying they didn't want to live in a Jewish state anymore...they wanted a separation of Church and State, civil marriage, etc... It was more gut feeling on their part (they weren't consciously demanding an end to the Jewish State)...and, moreover, they were obvioulsly duped by the monotonous (false) slogans of Shinui, but on some level, that is what they were calling for.
