Well, the Yosh Pit has me on autotrash, so she won't read this, but the rest of you (save Carrol) will.

I seem to recall our academic Leninist supporting, in retrospect (and in real time?), the Soviet invasion and occupation of Afghanistan, which, as Michael P. will support with endless stats, killed over a million and littered the country with tens of thousands of land mines, etc. Now, we can go into whether or not that was a "benign" invasion, as well as pointing out Washington's complicity via bin Laden and gang, but I highly doubt that the Yosh Pit would've, were she a grad student at a Soviet U., typed out the above, urging the Red Army home. Or would she?
