actually, doing some kicking around and it looks like yahoo mail defaults to plain text, so what i'm thinking is that justin may be using outlook rather than the yahoo web interface? if so, martin here is on the mark: justin (and others doing the same thing) would need to set that account in outlook to only send plain text in the *outlook* options, not in the yahoo options (where no such option exists -- only an option to enable html tags).

if it's not that, i'm at a loss.
