There are good practical reasons not to be a principled abolitionist in our society. Future societues will do what they choose. You may be right that a society civilized enough to have the death penalty wouldn't have one. I wouldn't care to write the law on this matter for a just social order even if I couldn't, which I can't. I oppose the death penalty in our society. What more do you want?
