right. together with that bicameral legislature. he seems to have some idea of american republican democracy as distributed caciquismo. that doesn't bode well.
btw, friedman's column yesterday was actually pretty good, pointing out how the search for wmd is distracting from the "us-led coalition's" utter failure to manage post-war iraq. going to this general in this way is just a symptom of that failure.
