To clarify China is no longer Maoist, and has not been since the most prominent leaders of the Cultural Revolution, the so-called "gang of four" was overthrown and major purges of the party and the mass organizations were carried out. In the final years of his life, Mao had warned that there was a serious danger of capitalist restoration in China. That restoration has occured.
