***** ...[A]n opinion poll suggested most Germans now expect an Iraq war. Some 85 per cent of those questioned in a Forsa poll in early March said they expected the US to attack Baghdad. The same proportion remains opposed to an Iraq war, the poll found.
In addition, 53 per cent of those questioned would support political or economic sanctions against the US if Washington went to war with Iraq without UN support, although the German government has not proposed the application of such sanctions....
It's just an opinion poll, but now the majority of Germans polled say that they would "support political or economic sanctions against the US." That's a strong statement. -- Yoshie
