An important part that's been overlooked in Bush's speech was when he told
Iraqis that the US will spare Iraqi military units that turn against Saddam
*and* allow coalition forces into the country. ("To disarm Saddam," of
course.)

In other words, the US won't accept just Saddam departure; they demand the
acceptance of occupation forces. Which brings to mind a possible nightmare
scenario for the administration. What happens if at some point in the war
Saddam is killed by some generals, who then proclaim themselves the next
leaders of Iraq and warn the Americans not to enter? Will we invade an
already-liberated Iraq?
