I think this is a hoax or satire, because the statement on their website <http://dixiechicks.launch.yahoo.com/news.asp?id=26> reads:

By the way, this whole celebrity thing is weird. Janeane Garofalo knows at least as much about politics, and probably more, than Biil O'Reilly. Why is he entitled to a non-celebrity opinion, and she's not?
