That's because the USA has yet to lose its empire, unlike Japan, Germany, and other European nations. Before losing their respective empires, many Japanese and Europeans were as obnoxiously imperialistic as many Americans are today. Everything -- from material to cultural conditions -- changed for the better after their respective losses. Losing the Last Empire will make Americans, too, better off in every way. -- Yoshie
