NO question he's a formidable leader. But you missed the nuance, Brad, where tacky capitalist encirclement, poisoned socialism and capital punishment were prominent enough in that post of mine to a South African listserve (and forget not that Cuba's defeat of the white apartheid-era army at Cuito Cuanivale in Angola in 1988 was a crucial moment in the liberation struggle). I'm no different from anyone visiting Cuba and adopting a position of critical support, which is the only reasonable stance to take. Maybe you should go over to SF, to the Global Exchange office, and arrange yourself a tour, before your government totally screws the poor Cuban people on the way to imposing another Batista.
