[lbo-talk] Wilde quote

Does anyone else remember the Monty Python sketch that featured the characters of Wilde and Shaw, each hurling grandiose insults at, and over the head of, King Edward, in an witty-repartee contest,,,

Wilde: Ah, Your Majesty, seeing you again is like viewing a stream of bat's piss against the night sky.

King: WHAT?!

Shaw: What Wilde means, my KIng, is that you shine forth when all around is darkness.

Both laugh at each other's wit; the king is completely confused.

King: Who said that?!

Wilde: Your Majesty, it was Shaw!

Shaw: It was Wilde!

I always thought it was George Bernard Shaw who said it, which probably shows what an ignoramus I am. I've also heard it expressed as "it takes too many meetings."/////........
