Doesn't this at least suggest that the idea that first world capitalism depends upon, i.e., would collapse without, superexploitation of the third world is false? I don't doubt that capitalists like to maintain low wages, no unions, no environmental regulations, cheap raw materials, low taxes, complaint or corruptable governments, and the other paraphrenelia of third-world-hood whenever they can -- hell, they'd like that here -- but the extra dollop of surplus value they cream off due to the appalling conditions and rapacious theft in the third world is icing, not structural. It's not proof, but it's evidence agaonst the contrary view. The icing is yummy enough to explain the importance of superexploitation to the Masters of the Universe in the documents that Dwayne refers to, which I know quite well.
