Germany was _at_war_ with the Allies, and _capitulated_.

Such formalities exist for a reason, namely to tell people that it's over, for instance. To flush them all down the toilet is an act of horrendous arrogance. And there is a price to be paid for that, namely that violence becomes _boundless_.

Also, it's very very stupid.
