Here's the American worldview: America is the greatest, freest country in the world. Canada's lucky to be next door, but it's cold and kind of socialist. Latin America is violent and corrupt. Europe is old and pampered. Asia is crowded, kind of scary, ruthlessly competitive, full of sheep led by dictators and sinister foremen. Africa is poor, disease-ridden, and best forgotten. Everyone everywhere envies us. We're generous, they're ungrateful.
