There are professions/trades that contain many sleazeballs or whatever, but that says nothing about the professions/trades themselves.

There are _some_ trades (functions) for which being a sleazeball (whether one 'really' is such or not) is a professional requirement. Cops, CIA agents, prison guards belong to the latter category. The knowledge that many members of these trades are, personally, _not_ sleazeballs should not affect one's judgment of the trade, any more than the fact that many teachers and professors _act_ like cops should affect one's judgment of those trades. One _need_ not be a sleazeball to qualify as a teacher. One does need to be a sleazeball at work to qualify as a CIA officer.
