They've been revising up the number for several weeks running. Still, there's little doubt that the US job market is "stabilizing," as Greenspan has been saying. Last month, there was a gain of 57k, and tomorrow's report for October should be up a bit more (75-90k). That's very weak for a recovery - in normal recoveries, we'd be seeing 300k, and the long-term trend is about 220k. But it's better than declines.
