These dumb-asses even get it wrong when they praise a book. For example, from the best list:

....

Richard Rhodes, The Making of the Atomic Bomb (1986)

This magisterial, balanced account of the world's most ambitious scientific project serves as a vigorous retort to those who make much of American naivete or who would deny the American century.

....

Indeed, this is a fine book and deserves your attention. But anyone who could read it and conclude that the author was celebrating *the American Century* or that it's a *vigorous retort to those who make much of American naivete* is clearly an idiot.

Taken as a whole, *The Making of The Atomic Bomb* is best understood as an obituary for the human species, written in advance like they do, I'm told, at the New York Times.

Some people apparently wear triumphalism tinted glasses and can't see what's actually before them.
