For his ("shocking!") embrace of Confederate flag wavers, Dean is risking offending the liberal part of his following (pissing off blacks and "lefties"), and going for the "big Clinton umbrella". This move smacked of Clinton, who managed to do all sorts of things deemed offensive to the black voting bloc, but never really suffered for it---and grabbed Republicans at the same time......

OK, Dean did it, he followed the initiation process that all Dem Party Presidentail candidate designees must go through, he showed white racist that he understands their needs. Clinton did it when he announced his Presidential candidacy by denouncing Sista Soul Jah on the spot where the KKK was founded.

The Kennedys hung out with Tail-gunner Joe McCarthy. I think LBJ skipped that part of the process, but then again he was killing POCs the Vietnamese, so he didn't have to say anything, he was already on the job. IF Carter skipped that part of the process, he made up for it by starting the contra-war against Nicaragua. And B er Gore (a synonym for humanitarian), had Tipper's fundaMENTALism to fall back on, that and prosecuting South Africa for making generic aids drugs.

Vermont (in the same way Bush is from Texas) Dean, now says "we" (the Dems) should woo people who put Confederate flag stickers on their cars, pick-up trucks, tanks, helicopters, or what ever else they drive. This is clearly racist, I mean you never here these guys say,

"We must appeal to people with Grateful Dead stickers all over their cars."

Or,

"Black Panther stickers all over their cars."

Their are people who really need help, such as those who put,

"Free Mumia Abu-Jamal, Free Leonard Peltier, and Greatful Dead stickers all over their cars." (can see the flashing police lights in my rear-view mirror right now.)

There's a whole host of people Dean could have said "we" must appeal to. Why didn't he say, we must appeal to,

"people with Nader and Green party stickers all over their cars." "people with stop police brutality stickers all over their cars."

or one of the largest segments of the population,

"people with anti-War stickers all over their cars"?

My guess is that Dean looked at the California elections and Schwartznegger's SS lineage and felt he had to get with the program.

For all those "anybody but Bush/blame Nader" fools, who will you blame if Bush beats Dean?"
