Well, the reviewer is supposing that all of the Left are fans of Rousseau. The blurb is correct, isn't it? Most of those gentle depictions of primitives turned out to be false on more careful study and the stories on woman and sex turned out, at least in some cases, to have been lies that the women later admitted to. I am not an anthropologist, so correct me if I am wrong about that.
