I have to say, I've never been so utterly despondent about the political future of this country. I don't see anything that can reverse it. On foreign policy, the Republicans can pretty much bomb their way out of any jam, so that's a no-go for the Dems. The 2000 election pretty much was the most catastrophic election of the century, institutionalizing changes anathema to most of the population, and which don't appear reversible.
On the positive side, I still have a job. So I guess it all balances out:)
