[lbo-talk] Foundation & University Investment in Caterpillar

I like Yoshie's idea about the Palestinian solidarity movement attempting to forge more links with Caterpillar U.S. workers. In addition, I think a divestment campaign which demanded that U.S. Establishment Foundations, as well as U.S. corporate universities, immediately divest themselves of their stock in Caterpillar might be a more effective means of increasing the political pressure on Caterpillar's corporate board to immediately end its collaboration with the militaristic Sharon regime in the Middle East.

Columbia Univerity, for instance, still owned over $1.3 million worth of Caterpillar stock as of October, 2002; and the unscreened multi-billion dollar stock portfolios of the Ford Foundation and the MacArthur Foundation may also still include stock in Caterpillar.

Speaking of the Pro-Zionist and Militaristic U.S. Establishment's foundations, have you read Joan Roelofs' recently-published expose' of the U.S. Establishment Foundation world: Foundations and Public Policy: The Mask of Pluralism?
