I was a semi-reg on Colmes' late night radio show in NYC. He's a nice guy,
can take more shit than he puts out, but he is soft, and not in the Zen/"Be
Like Water" sense. When I was on with him, I'd bash him from the anarchist
left, sometimes just to get a rise outta him, and he'd parry and dodge but
would never go for my throat. "Geez Alan," I'd say. "Hannity was you
whipped." And after some mock bluster, he'd smile. I think he takes the
whole thing for what it is: a paying gig.
