Uh, this isn't Europe. BHL is a ubiquitous media figure in France; here, almost no one knows who he is.
And what exactly do you object to in what he had to say in the interview (which, though you probably haven't heard, no doubt object to)? He said: the war on Iraq was wrong, and based on lies; there should be a Palestinian state; Pakistan is the major problem, not Iraq or Afghanistan; jihadism is the offspring of Islam plus Western culture (many senior jihadists were educated in the West - the man Levy holds responsible for Pearl's murder was a graduate of the LSE); the war against the USSR in Afg left a lot of jihadist hellspawn behind; the U.S. and France have rebuffed "moderate" Muslims and historically favored the extremists who are causing so much trouble today; the Huntingtonesqe clash of cultures argument is "absurd" and "stupid." Is any of that worth banning the guy for?
