Demagogue? Not at all - quite the opposite in fact. There are two reasons I respond to him repeatedly - one his often breathtaking nastiness to people who don't deserve it, and two, a representative and all-too-common attitude on the American left (which, of course, doesn't exist) that's absolutely hostile to speaking to an audience beyond the little circle of true believers.
