many people believe in god, perhaps billions, and are not christian...most christians are not fundamentalist-evangelicals...some atheists are murderous assholes...many of the "founders", deist, christian or other, were slave owners...

so?... the fact(?) that it is alleged(?) that three out of four americans believe in angels means what? if it's true, then angel believers were among those who voted for gore, bush and nader, and probably sister boom-boom or some other fifth or sixth party candidate, as well...and if the same percent support the ten jewish-christian commandments on the wall - which I doubt even more than the angel figures - in the larger picture of world events, so fucking what?

as to polls and people's response to them, it's fun and games for marketers and other manipulators but let's not get crazy with poll figures...what were "the respondents" told before the poll? what questions were asked of them, and to elicit what kind of response? polls are designed to get certain specific, and alleged, information and to exclude everything else about life....predict a response to this poll question:

which would you prefer: george bush sitting in the white house or jennifer lopez sitting on your face?

that would be as scientific as any other poll, if someone with money wanted to prove(?) that more men ( and possibly women) would rather give j-lo head than have bush head the nation...

much religion is dumb and dangerous, but hatred for religious people is part of the problem...political economics are much dumber and more dangerous, and the god squad of "secular" bastards who run that show are a greater menace to us all than some unfortunate opiate-head who thinks jesus or moses is coming to dinner, soon....
