By this argument someone who said they thought we should mend slavery rather than abolish it would be right -- someone who said we should mend stalinism rather than replacing it, would be right, ditto apartheid, and so on. --- Mending Stalinism would have been about a billion times better than replacing it. "Stalinism" in the 60s, 70s and 80s was frankly just not that bad, which many people seem incapable of getting through their heads.
