Guerilla wars almost _never_ win militarily. It's virtually impossible. (The Chinese pulled it off under very special circumstances.) So 'Tacitus' is correct: those of us who want the Iraqi to expel the U.S. aggressors have to create both a large and militant opposition movement at home _and_ generate demoralization among those who would otherwise support the war.
What the Iraqi forces need to do is simply survive (not be wiped out) long enough for that opposition and demoralization within the U.S. to have its effect.
Didn't someone post on this list the conversation between a Vietnamese colonel and American Colonel that took place after the war. The latter said, "You never defeated us in battle." The Vietnamese colonel said, "That is true, but it is also irrelevant."
