Tories stall hate protection for gays
To the frustration of some of their so-called Red Tory colleagues, a handful of Conservative senators are leading a filibuster-like attempt to block legislation that would extend hate-law protection to Canada's gays and lesbians.

At the moment, the "business end" of the new Conservative Party (once known as the Reform, then the Canadian Alliance) is running the show, so the knuckle-draggers aren't grunting so much (except for above) in their pens.
Most people seem to be calling for a minority Liberal government, but it's not impossible for the Conservatives to win, albeit by a slim margin, I think. Should that happen, the Conservative's Bay Street boys'll have no qualms about tossing some queers to the knuckle-walkers to chew on and keep their howling to a minimum.
