You consistently kneejerk by asserting that there are not sectors of the Movement that, 'er "Objectively, " support the sectors of the Iraqi Resistance that are rooted in Ba'athism, reactionary Islamism or the bankrupt pan-Arab nationalism that a Ohio State Univ. Prof., Iraqi born political scientist, rubbishes in, "The Rise and Fall of Arab Nationalism, " by Aded Dawisha, reviewed here by Avi Schlaim,

--no, i wouldn't deny that, but i would deny Geras' infantile assessment of the Iraqi resistance as largely foreign and/or 'baathist', saddamist,...That's just politically motivated propaganda direct from Centcom. If Geras wants to believe Kimmit and Senor, fine, but surely there are better sources out there assessing the background of the various factions involved in the resistance 1) and 2) the causes of the resistance that we have witnessed almost from the very beginning of the official invasion of Iraq.

that Geras sees a force that goes into a middle eastern country and blares rock and roll music out of its tanks as a 'liberating force'...wow... I thought Rahul's comments on his interviews with some soldiers about Sadr was interesting, they didn't even know the name of his army...God pity the liberators...
