Historically, Communist regimes industrialized a third of the planet,
sparked decolonization, and defeated Nazi Germany, all under trying
circumstances. Whatever else those regimes did or didn't do, that's an
astounding achievement.
If by Communism you're referring to the Leninist mass party structure, that's
a slightly different issue.
