I did a 16-hour walking tour of NYC this last Saturday and saw the full
glory of Manhattan. I felt like I toured the planet in one day. Our
Brooklynite guide was one of the least insular and provincial people I have
ever met. However, I'd opine that a New Yorker could be insular, ignoring
the world outside the city, and still be exposed to a greater diversity of
cultures and ideas than most other people on Earth are.
