Manjur's Response:
I am an unrepentant heathen myself, so we have something in common. But the point is attributing a set of anthropomorphic moral values to the concept of God (e.g. why does God let tragedy like that to happen?) itself is a Western concept, very much a part of Christian anxiety (pehaps including the angst of the secular Left who is trying to break away from the unconscious religious anchoring) . A Hindu's religious worldview is not challenged in the same way by human tragedy. Tragedy and destruction are seen there as parts of a larger cosmic drama.
