>Is there a mass political movement of any kind in the US?
Not really, in the sense that most non USers would recognize. We've got lots of dispersed movements, but they're geographically and ideologically (and often ethnically) isolated from each other.
>IMO, it's the mass movement that creates activists and theoreticians
>in the first place. Without a mass political movement, it's almost
>impossible to sustain activity as well as theory in the long term.
>What are the prospects of the emergence of a mass political movement
>(even a reformist one) in the US?
Not blindingly bright at the moment.
