In Slate's "Today's Papers" for today (http://slate.msn.com/id/2095075/), Brian Montopoli writes:

"The WP [Washington Post], in a front-page analysis, offers up a mystifying headline: "Competition Becomes Democrats' Elixir." The piece says that unlike in past years, when nominating battles weakened candidates, this year's Democratic primary campaign will provide a boost to whichever candidate emerges as the nominee. With Bush's approval rating sliding and Democrats enjoying significant media exposure, the WP says, the president is in a weaker position that expected in advance of his reelection campaign."

In other words, the Demos smell blood. Then again, maybe they're just smoking something funny, again.

(Fourth post today -- that's all.)
