It's killing me to listen to Bubba the Love Sponge every a.m. He's a shock jock d.j out of Tampa, but Clear Channel runs it nationwide.
Since the republicans went after him, slapping him with the second highest fine the FCC's ever doled out, the show has become a 4 hour anti-Shrubya and anti-Republican fest. This guy is pissed and he's using everything he can to get Shrub out of office. When a member of the Bubba army (basically, the same demographic as the NASCAR dads Shrub is targeting) calls in to commiserate with poor, poor, whiney, widdle Bubba, they're always reminded to make it count and vote for ABB.
Meanwhile, they're moving past whining about the FCC farce, to attack Shrub in a way that would make Moveon.org very pleased! On and on about the useless war in Iraq. ON and on about how we're wasting lives and money for a war that Shrub lied to u.s.ers about. On and on about the economy. On and on, mocking Shrub about his obvious campaign trips. On and on about how the Tampa area is well-known for being unfaithful to any party and how badly the Shrub needs to win here.
Recently, Bubba has been rallying his army to show up at the Daytona 500 -- where Shrub is supposed to be the Grand Marshal or some such--and make Shrub's life miserable. Bubba's a big NASCAR fan and regularly holds events at NASCAR races, so it'll be interesting to see if anything happens.
