The more common translation is love rather than charity, I think. Plug that word into those passages instead of "charity," and the passage has even more power in English.
Back on the subject of the "Presidential Prayer Team," however, that website really is unintentional satire, almost as ridiculous as Fred Phelps of www.godhatesfags.com infamy. Here's an example:
"Pray for Attorney General John Ashcroft as he works to stop the use of steroids which can have debilitating effects on athletes."
